The Board of Education is seeking a well-qualified person with strong leadership and managerial ability for the position of High School Principal. The High School Principal would serve at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, grade level (9-12). The Board, Staff, and Community have high expectations for achievement of students. The candidate must be knowledgeable of the principles of powerful teaching and learning and must have a record of success in promoting organizational improvement efforts. The High School Principal reports to the Superintendent of Schools and supports the success of students, staff, the school and the District by developing strong school and community relationships. By collaborating with all the stakeholders, the High School Principal ensures that each student has adequate support by creating and monitoring systems that promote success. 

The High School Principal is primarily responsible for school operations such as the day-to day functioning of facilities, dealing with student discipline, managing the state testing program, organizing school-wide events, and supervising and evaluating certificated and classified school staff. The High School Principal is also responsible for providing adequate supplies, furniture and other capital equipment to school personnel. The High School Principal primarily focuses on student achievement and nurturing a professional learning community with the faculty. The High School Principal must be organized, prioritize efficiently, meet deadlines, be flexible, a skillful communicator, have the ability to effectively supervise personnel, and build teams. 

Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Schools, guided by the policies of the Board of Education, administrative regulations and the State Education Code, the High School Principal is the supervisory and administrative officer of the school.
