Employee disciplinary processes for local educational agency employees are governed by restrictive statutory requirements. Engagement in formal disciplinary processes require knowledge of the Education Code categories of discipline, the procedural requirements, and support from legal counsel. Informal disciplinary processes are managed through progressive discipline engagement and include direct engagement with employees to assist with performance improvement.
Webinar content will provide an overview of the statutory disciplinary processes for certificated and classified employees, the requirements and timelines within the processes, and templates and resources to help human resources (HR) administrators manage difficult personnel matters. Presenters will also provide practical advice for progressive discipline from the leadership perspective. In addition, webinar content includes case studies and examples of effective documentation to prepare attendees when it is time to call an attorney to resolve the most complicated personnel challenges. The presentation will include a roundtable discussion that will allow participants to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other attendees.
